How a boat sails the wind it can't control

The sail modeled as a real wing — actual airfoil aerodynamics and live airflow, not a cartoon; the boat as real physics: lift, leeway, the no-go cone. The hard part was never the math. It was making an invisible force something you can feel with a hand on the tiller — that was the whole point.
